The music in Helix is actually it’s shining point. I’ve never really heard of the artist, but most of the music will get you up and moving. I really liked Ilona Europa’s song “Live Forever” and Andy Duguid’s “Dreamcatcher” along with many of the other songs. There are only a few songs open to start but as you pass the various levels you’ll unlock new tracks for play. Fans of club music will probably find themselves playing just to hear all of the available songs.
Multiple gameplay levels give Helix some replay value, but the lack of really challenging gameplay won’t appeal to those already immersed in the world of rhythm games like Dance Dance Revolution or Para Para Paradise. However, for the casual gamer just looking for something to pass the time, Helix might just give you your arm-flailing fix. The use of two remotes to control gameplay is a great idea. I also like the fact that you can make a two-player game of it by having a second person play as one of the robots arms. All in all, if you live and the club and want to bring that fun home to your family and friends then Helix might just be worth a shot!
