Day 7: I got fidgety at around 1am and decided to use Wii Fit to tired myself out. When I logged on to my password protected profile (Hey, I don’t want anyone to see my BMI. A girl has got to have her secrets.), a sleeping Wii Balance Board avatar wearing a birthday hat greeted me. It remembered my birthday and had been reminding my fiancé all week that it was soon to arrive.
I was a nice way to start my workout. I ended up putting in 20 minutes before I got tired and more time before my next bedtime. Well over 35 minutes today! I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s best to take the Body Test at least an hour or two after you’ve eaten. Food going into the tummy isn’t weightless and it will make your BMI go up. Don’t let it discourage you. I’m not.
Ok. After a week of Wii Fit, I can’t say I’ve seen my weight drop dramatically. I do feel much better though. You will notice those sore muscles, the signal a good workout, after doing even a day or two of vigorous exercise with the game. I think Wii Fit is the total package with very few flaws.
You have a built-in BMI and weight scale, a personal trainer and tons of fun, entertaining mini-games that actually encourage activities other than working out your thumbs. The only thing I could possibly see being a missing component is some type of app within the game that tells you how many calories you’re burning. You can always look that sort of thing up online, but it would have been convenient to have it in the game itself.
In conjunction with healthy eating (Something I’m notorious for not doing…I’m a carnivore darn it!) the Wii Fit can make exercise a lot more entertaining and palpable. Nay Sayers who complain about working out with a game instead of outside should note that enjoying the great outdoors is not for everyone. There are some people who would prefer to exercise in air-conditioned comfort after all.
For them, I think the Wii Fit seems to be a very good choice. I can also see it as an alternative for active people on rainy days. Kids too can also enjoy Wii Fit, but don’t let the BMI and Body Testing affect them too much, parents. They’re still growing. The Wii Fit is a definite must-have for any Wii owner. Especially since the Balance Board can be used with other interactive titles that are sure to increase in number. You might have a tough time finding Wii Fit, but believe me; I think it’s worth all the effort!
