Is Nintendo’s upcoming bundle of mini sports games just a gimmick? Or is it a recipe for success?

Ever since the specifics about the Nintendo Wii have been unveiled, Nintendo has been reminding people not to think of it as a “Next-generation system,” but a “New-generation system.” A system that does not aim to deliver that next gen eye candy that you can see on the 360 and PS3, but instead aims to deliver an entirely new gaming experience that will bring together gamers and non gamers alike. No other game demonstrates this “New-generation console” philosophy better than Wii Sports.

The Wii Sports bundle is a package that so far consists of four games: Wii Tennis, Wii Baseball, Wii Golf, and Wii Airplane. However, as of right now, it is unknown whether these will be the games that are included in the bundle when it comes out on the market or even if they will be bundled at all. What is for sure, is that each of these titles provide a fun, yet simplistic method of playing some of our favorite sports (Yes, for the purpose of this article, “airplaning” is considered a sport and it is one of your favorites.)
